Rugby School Thailand has been given the highest possible rating of “Outstanding” in all areas and awarded Gold Level accreditation by the respected British Schools Overseas (BSO) and the International Schools Quality Mark (ISQM). This inspection report marks an impressive milestone as the School approaches its 10th anniversary.
The independent inspection report verifies Rugby School Thailand as one of the leading international schools in Thailand, recognising exceptional standards across all aspects of School life. From its beginnings as a greenfield site, the School has developed into a thriving international day and boarding school for students aged 2–18, with a community of over 1200 students, proudly representing over 45 nationalities.

In their report, inspectors stated that “Rugby School Thailand is an outstanding school and provides an outstanding quality of education for its pupils.” The report praised academic outcomes in particular, noting that “attainment and progress are outstanding across all subjects and for all age groups.”
Inspectors also highlighted the culture and values of the school, commenting that “the behaviour of pupils is outstanding. They are proud members of their school, keen to learn, kind and welcoming to each other and to visitors.” Teaching was described as “highly effective,” enabling students to make “excellent rates of progress and to attain highly.”
The bespoke British curriculum was recognised as a significant strength, with inspectors describing it as “innovative and imaginative,” and noting that students find it engaging and achieve very highly. The report also praised the School’s campus, stating that “buildings and resources are of a very high standard. The campus contains many specialist facilities.”

Student wellbeing and safeguarding were also praised, noting that “keeping pupils safe is given the highest priority by staff.” Strong partnerships with families were recognised, with inspectors acknowledging that “parents are active members of a staff and parent partnership designed to support pupils’ learning.”
Leadership was described as a defining strength of the school, with the report concluding that “leaders are deeply committed to all aspects of School life. They are successful in securing outstanding pupils’ outcomes and are determined to maintain the highest standards across all areas of the school.”
Commenting on the inspection report, Taya Teepsuwan, co-owner of Rugby School Thailand, said: “From the very beginning, my vision was to bring a truly authentic British education to Thailand – not just in name, but in values, standards and experience. Seeing Rugby School Thailand recognised as Gold Level and “Outstanding” by independent British inspectors is incredibly meaningful. It shows what is possible when you combine world-class British heritage with deep commitment to contemporary education.”

This outstanding inspection report follows closely after Cambridge CEM ranking Rugby School Thailand in the top 7% of international schools (and the top 10% globally) for the value it adds to student grades. This independent data demonstrates the school’s ability to deliver on its aim to “improve outcomes for every student”. Together, these accolades reinforce Rugby School Thailand’s ethos, “The Whole Person, The Whole Point,” which places equal emphasis on academic excellence, character development and human skills.
Bruce Grindlay, Principal of Rugby School Thailand, added: “International education is a highly competitive and saturated market, and you simply cannot stand still if you want to remain among the very best. At the same time, we are educating young people in an era of rapid change, including the rise of artificial intelligence, where human skills, character and adaptability matter more than ever. We are fortunate to have the space, facilities and boarding environment to deliver a genuinely “whole person” education; one that develops confident, capable humans as well as outstanding academic outcomes. This inspection recognises that relentless focus on improvement and purpose.”

The outstanding inspection report provides a fitting introduction as the school moves towards a year of 10th anniversary celebrations. Among the highlights will be the unveiling of an impressive 750-seat auditorium and the opening of one of Thailand’s foremost golf performance centres; landmark additions to the School’s already best-in-class facilities.
Rugby School Thailand has become a standout educational institution in Chonburi, attracting students not only from Bangkok and across Thailand, but from Asia and Europe. The BSO & ISQM inspection provides powerful independent verification of the School’s quality and trajectory, confirming Rugby School Thailand as an outstanding international day and boarding school, and one of the most exciting success stories in British international education today.
